According to Garcia, O’Donnell died on Sunday. He died just a day after the family’s memorial service for his wife and Garcia’s mother Gaby O’Donnell, who also died of the aftermath of COVID-19.

We’re incredibly sad that my stepfather, Greg O’Donnell, passed away due to complications from COVID-19. It is a heartbreaking loss for all of our family, especially my brother Jake.

“Since my family is broken only by the loss of my parents – I find it comforting to know that they are together again – with no pain or suffering,” wrote Garcia’s brother Jake.

The couple were hospitalized and ventilated after testing positive in mid-July.

Garcia said it was a heartbreaking loss for his entire family. The couple had been married for 27 years.

“Greg was a kind and kind man, a great father and grandfather, and the best husband our mother could ever hope for,” Garcia said on Twitter. “He worked hard for his family and started his own successful small business as a contractor with his brothers.”
