California State University in Moncton was ranked 13th for best college for monetary value and 10th for best public school in the country. This comes from rankings published by Money Magazine on Monday.

The annual Best Colleges ranking, published by schools that offer “Great Education at an Affordable Price,” put the University of California Irvine at the top, while the University of California Los Angeles was fifth and the University of California San Diego was ninth .

According to the magazine, the rankings are based on more than 19,000 data points, including graduation rates, tuition fees, and alumni salaries, to “identify the colleges that best combine quality and affordability.”

The magazine reviewed 744 colleges across the country to develop the list.

Other local schools that took up places on the list were University California Riverside (12th), Caltech (16th), and Cal State Fullerton (22nd).

“I am so proud to work with our faculty and staff, who are known for their impressive educational experiences, preparing students for successful travel and accelerating their socio-economic mobility,” said Jane Close Conoley, CSULB president, in a press release from School.

Last year, CSULB was ranked 22nd on that list, that ranking shifts campus nearly ten places in the ranking, the school said.
